Last Saturday we hosted the "DIY Candy Buffet" free workshop for San Diego Brides & Grooms. This workshop was so much fun to help pull together. Alison Howard of One & Only Events explained the details of how to put together your own Candy Buffet for your wedding and covered topics such as how to choose your containers, organizing your candy by color or theme, where to buy supplies, when to set it up and more. I added to the conversation some information about how to personalize the candy buffet with DIY printable tags, labels and bags. I'll be sure to follow up this post with a download-able version of the files we distributed during the class.
There is so much more that you can do with a buffet other than candy. After the class, our guests were able to see two other options that we had put together; a gourmet popcorn buffet and a cookie buffet. The ideas for buffets are endless. Any collection of items can be turned into a buffet. During the class we discussed making a small toy buffet for the children at your wedding (a great way to keep their hands out of the candy jars). You could also create a chocolate buffet, or a hot chocolate and s'mores buffet for a fall or winter wedding. A gourmet coffee buffet complete with flavored creams and toppings sounds divine.
Hopefully you will see that buffets are a really fun experience for your guests at your wedding reception. Think about hosting a buffet that is personal to you and your fiancee and have fun with creating a memorable buffet for your guests.
Enjoy these photos from the workshop. We had so much fun hosting this event, I'm positive we will repeat it again in the future. Keep an eye on the Bridal Insider events calendar for more free workshops coming up. Just click the "events" tab at the top of the site.
We extend a huge thanks to Alison Howard of One & Only Events for presenting such a great workshop and to Stephanie & Tina of Stephina Photography for photographing the event for us. I know the Brides & Grooms that attended had a great time.
