Masked by Nicole Miller: Gel Polish
I have recently become obsessed with the do-it-yourself gel nail polishes, they are totally affordable and they last for weeks! The ones that I have been happiest with are “Red Carpet Manicure” from Ulta and “Gelish” from Sally’s Beauty Supply.

They come in a variety of colors some are sheerer, while others finish more opaquely. It’s a fairly easy application process, although it may require a bit more time than you are used to spending on polishing your nails….but I must say, it’s so worth it!
After prepping the nail, you apply the gel just like you would apply a regular old nail polish, with a twist off cap that has a brush attached. The polish then needs to cure under a LED or UV light, which you are able to purchase also. This helps the gel to harden, without the lamp the gel will remain tacky and will not dry completely.
Both of these products last anywhere 2 to 3 weeks on me, just depending on how many dishes I have to wash during that time!! I love the fact that I don’t have to make an appointment at a nail salon, or even leave the house at all when I need them to be redone. The initial cost to get started with a kit will likely run you about $50, then you can continue to purchase single bottles of color as you wish to expand your color collection!
Happy Nail Painting!
