Do the Bride & Groom Need to Live in San Diego In Order to Win?

Yes, either the Bride or the Groom must be a resident of San Diego County in order to win the contest.

Is There a maximum Guest Count For the Wedding?

Yes, the wedding guest count includes 46 people, 1 Bride, 1 Groom, 1 Maid of Honor and 1 Best Man. The winning couple has the option to purchase additional guests at a rate to be determined. Maximum guest count is 75 guests.

If I Win, Will I Have to Pay Taxes on the Value of the Wedding?

It shall be the responsibility of the recipient of the “Ultimate San Diego Wedding” Grand Prize to report such income to the appropriate Federal and State tax agencies.  The taxable value of the prize will be reported to the Internal Revenue Service and the recipient of the Grand Prize on an annual Form 1099.  It is always recommended that the recipient seek professional tax advice when reporting such items to the appropriate tax authorities.

What is the Schedule of Events for the Contest?

October 10 to 30 – Couples enter to with the Ultimate Wedding at Star941fm.com.
November 3 – Panel of judges meets to select the three final couples.
November 7 to 20 – Online voting will take place between the three couples.
November 21 – Winner will be announced.
December 1 – “Congratulations” party for the winning couple.
January 24 – Wedding Rehearsal & Dinner
January 25 – Wedding takes place at Mt Woodson Castle.

When will the winner be announced?

The winning couple will be announced on November 21st, 2011.

When Can I Enter to Win the Ultimate San Diego Wedding?

Couples can enter the contest starting Monday October 10, 2011. Entries will be accepted up until midnight on October 30, 2011.

Will I be able to choose certain things about the wedding?

Because of the quick timeline of the wedding planning, and the need for the vendors to showcase their services within the wedding theme, most of the design decisions have been made already for the wedding. We will try to consult with the winning couple on as many items as possible. Many of the vendors are willing to try and incorporate the winning couple’s preferences where they can.

What if we have already started planning our wedding and have booked vendors?

By winning the Ultimate San Diego Wedding, you will have to fore go any pending contracts and possibly deposits for vendors that you have already booked for your original wedding plans. In the case that you win the Ultimate San Diego Wedding, you should discuss your current contracts with your vendors directly to explore your options.

When is the Wedding?

The wedding date is set for Wednesday, January 25th 2012.
